David Spade Confirms Rey Is Basically Joe Dirt
Earlier today, comedian David Spade posted an Instagram Story that rocked both the Star Wars and Joe Dirt fandoms. With just four letters slapped on a meme, he seemed to confirm a long rumored theory that connects the Skywalker saga to that of his mullet-sporting, anti-hero.
The meme in question (seen below) features a chart that breaks down how Rey and Joe Dirt are essentially the same character. Spade reposted the image and added “Hmmm” to it, essentially making the theory an official part of Joe Dirt canon.
Star Wars actor John Boyega even chimed in, claiming Finn was also related to Joe Dirt because both characters are skilled in the custodial arts. It seems everyone in Star Wars wants to be connected to Joe Dirt in some capacity–and we don’t blame them.
For his part, Spade is taking it all in stride. As one of the celebrity hosts on the new season of Bachelor in Paradise, he probably hopes Rey can find love out there. That would certainly be one more thing she’d have in common with Joe. Probably the most important of all. Hmmm hmmm.
