Taun We: “I am not Anya Taylor-Joy”

TIPOCA CITY, KAMINO—The “gentle giantess” Taun We, who gained renown for her soft demeanor, is being blunt about an unfavorable comparison often made at her expense.

“I am not now nor have I ever been the actress Anya Taylor-Joy. For one thing, I am much, much taller than her,” said We during a press conference held earlier today.

The statuesque Kaminoan also pointed out the large disparity between her facial symmetry compared to that of Taylor-Joy.

“My eyes are three or four inches apart at most, whereas Anya’s are at least six to eight inches apart. You’d have to be blind or outright trolling to mistake me for her clearly more alien look.”

We’s frustrations over the comparison have mounted as the actor’s career gained momentum.

HoloNet posts confusing the two began after Taylor-Joy’s role in The Witch. Then came her breakout performance in The Queen’s Gambit, which gave rise to hundreds of memes featuring We in place of Taylor-Joy.

At one point, We had to provide Prime Minister Lama Su with documentation to prove she was in fact his aide, and not Hollywood’s new “It” girl.

“I just want to set the record straight and put this all behind me. We are not clones. I am not her and she is not me. I don’t even play dejarik let alone chess!”
