BURBANK, CA–Del Rey Books, who publishes Star Wars novels under the Lucasfilm imprint, has announced an upcoming novel entitled The TV Show of Boba Fett. The novel’s release will coincide with the upcoming TV show The Book of Boba Fett on DisneyPlus.

“Sure, the names may be confusing, but Lucasfilm wanted to do something different this time,” explained Cavan Scott, author of Star Wars novels such as Dooku: Jedi Lost and The Rising Storm. “And they can get away with almost anything now–right?”

When asked about the TV show being named “The Book” and vice versa, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy commented, “You know, now that I think of it, I guess it would have made more sense not to switch the names like that.”

The TV Show of Boba Fett is expected to chronicle the adventures of a younger, less experienced Fett who tries his hand at daytime television before settling on a career in bounty hunting. Author Cavan Scott said he drew inspiration from the titular character’s portrayal in the now non-canonical Boba Fett books for young readers and from his first-ever appearance in The Star Wars Holiday Special.

At publishing time, Lucasfilm had also announced plans for a concept album entitled Boba Fett: The Video Game, as well as a graphic novel called Boba Fett: The Rock Opera.

The TV Show of Boba Fett will be available at bookstores everywhere this November. The Book of Boba Fett premieres on DisneyPlus in December.
