Vespa Dealerships See Sales Growth After ‘Boba Fett’ Chapter 3

Scooter and moped dealerships across the galaxy are seeing huge sales spikes after the appearance of brightly colored speeders modeled after Vespas in The Book of Boba Fett on Disney+ last week. While it is interesting to see such a controversial addition to Star Wars canon cause a boost of real world popularity, local law enforcement is seeing an even bigger payday as majority of new owners are not licensed operators.

“There have been more scooter operators out on the roads this past week that I’ve ever seen and they’re breaking all kinds of traffic laws,” said Officer Larry Ramirez of Fort Worth, Kansas. “Every single one I pulled over have had no idea a scooter license is required for operation. I wrote plenty of tickets and even got a bonus from the department for it!”

But scooter related nonsense isn’t the only thing becoming popular for teens and young adults. Body modification parlors, and not just tattoo or piercing shops, have seen the largest appointment influx in years. Some shops are even booked all the way into 2023.

“Weird thing is, they all had strange mechanical parts glued or duct taped to their bodies,” continued Officer Ramirez. “They looked like Borgs from Star Trek or Spy Kids or even Inspector Gadget. Some even rode in packs, each with a uniquely colored scooter like they were going to combine into Voltron or the Megazord from Power Rangers.”

Will this trend of scooters and cyborg-like props continue or fizzle out as soon as this season of The Book of Boba Fett ends? Time will tell.
