Pablo Hidalgo Accidentally Deletes Himself
SAN FRANCISCO — Star Wars Twitter is in mourning following the bizarre chain of events that led to Lucasfilm Story Group’s Pablo Hidalgo deleting himself from existence. According to fourth-hand reports, the creative executive was celebrating his 19th year anniversary at Lucasfilm by spending time on Twitter with his wife. The couple was said to be in the middle of a tweet-and-delete party — Hidalgo is infamous for periodically deleting his tweets — when something went very wrong.
“He tripped over a stack of books, spilling his Fanboy Tears mug onto the keyboard, and then all hell broke loose. That’s why my daughter said anyway,” said Hidalgo’s landlord’s mother-in-law, Suzanne Randall Smith.
Despite the deletion, neighbors and friends are not too concerned.
“Pablo keeps it interesting. He straight up vanishes for weeks at a time… then he’ll just appear again with some new Star Wars book or something,” said Hidalgo’s friend-of-a-friend Chet Kisdale. “I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already tweeted about the incident and deleted it.”
Reddit is also taking it in stride, especially when you consider the most upvoted comment regarding Hidalgo’s deletion:
“And nothing of value was lost,” said Redditor HelloThere69.
Among Star Wars Twitter though, the mood is much grimmer.
“We’re still in a period of healing following The Last Jedi and Solo… and this is the last thing we needed,” said StarWars.com contributor Bryan “With a Y-Wing” Young. “We’re praying for you, brother. If I could snap my fingers to bring you back to Twitter, since I really don’t know you in real life, I totally would.”
Of course, conspiracy theorists are having a field day.
“First KK, then Kiri, now Pablo… Iger is taking them out one-by-one. Who’s next to be disappeared,” posted an anonymous Twitter nutbag.
