First Details On Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron Film Emerge
While Star Wars fandom was focused on The High Republic launch announcement yesterday, our spies were busy getting intel on Patty Jenkins’ upcoming Rogue Squadron film. Fortunately, it seems the filmmaker’s first foray into a galaxy far, far away is looking much better than Wonder Woman 1984, on paper anyway. Without further ado, here’s what our source “Super Scooper Trooper” divulged:
PLOT DETAILS
Rogue Squadron is set 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. The antagonists are the Neimodians who have expanded in the post-Empire era. The corporate Neimodians were executed by the warrior class, who have taken control of Neimodian space, forcing the New Republic to militarize again. The political situation mirrors Japan in WW2. The Neimoidians rally puppet systems and launch an attack on the Republic.
CAST DETAILS (This is where the fun begins!)
- Colin Farrell is a Mandalorian mercenary who wears Turqoise-green armor and has a dog-like companion. He’s from an older Mandalorian subculture who predate the current Mandalorian groups.
- Ken Watanabe is the highest ranking General of the Neimodians.
- Mark Strong is a Zabrak General in the New Republic.
- Patterson Joseph is a Duros ace pilot in Rogue Squadron.
- Sofia Boutella is one of the other pilots.
- Kix (Temuera Morrison) is Rogue Squadron’s Doctor.
PRODUCTION DETAILS
Filming in Iceland, Ireland, England and India in 2022.
