Pedro Pascal Struck By Lightning On Mandalorian Set
Inside sources have confirmed that Pedro Pascal, who portrays the titular character The Mandalorian, was struck by lightning today on set of the show’s third season. A freak thunderstorm arose just before a scheduled break in filming and Mr. Pascal, still in full Beskar armor, went outside to play a round of golf during the break.
A source on the set stated he was heard shouting:
“No one can stop me from playing golf. Not God, not Pablo Hidalgo, not even Kathleen Kennedy! Okay, maybe Kathleen Kennedy. I still need my paycheck.”
On the third hole he was seen pointing his club in the air towards where he was planning to hit the ball yelling, “This is the way!” but unbeknownst to him he was standing in a puddle of water. At that point a lightning bolt struck the Din Djarin actor, sending him flying farther than his jet pack would have carried him. Members of the crew quickly rushed over to find the star in a small crater he’d created upon landing, his armor still smoking.
Alfonso Ribeiro, guest director of the episode being filmed at the time, was visibly upset at the turn of events. According to several witnesses, Ribeiro proceeded to berate the camera crew for not capturing it on film.
“That’s $10,000 worth of video not captured!” he was quoted as saying.
Mr. Pascal was heard stating that in the future, anytime he decides to play golf in his armor, he’ll let his stunt doubles handle it. The report went on to state that Mr. Pascal was not injured but the prop Grogu that was strapped to his back was completely destroyed. We hope that isn’t a bad omen for the fate of the character in the up coming season!
