Disney Ready To Sue Over UFO Report

In a bizarre reaction to recent events, the office of The Director of National Intelligence (DNI) is the new target for the sue-happy Disney corporation. The cease-and-desist order issued by LaPolt Law firm was sent last night to the DNI over their recent nine-page report of unidentified aerial phenomena or “UAP” for short.

The letter from LaPolt owner Dina LaPolt is a curt four paragraph letter insisting that the Director take down the report titled “Preliminary Assessment: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” posted on DNI.gov on June 25, 2021. The letter from LaPolt say the likeness of these UAPs described in the report is too close to that of the famous Millennium Falcon starship from the Star Wars franchise.

If this seems like a stretch, it’s not. While the design of the Millennium Falcon we all know and love, is shaped in a way that could be mistaken for a “flying saucer,” the original concept art for the Falcon was shaped like a longer tube-shaped craft, much like the “tic tac” UAP seen in the now viral declassified YouTube video released by The Pentagon last year.

The LaPolt Firm, writing on behalf of Disney/Lucasfilm, insists that the report is infringing on the copyright of the Millennium Falcon and “may interfere with future storylines, plots and characters in upcoming Star Wars feature films or shows. If this fandom fiction is not removed, Disney is ready to take further action to stop this menace.”

Even us here at FakingStarWars rolled our eyes at this.

FSW reached out via phone call to the LaPolt firm, who provided the following statement: “Kathy (Kennedy) takes this very seriously. While it may be fun to make up stories about galaxies far, far away, the Disney corporation does not want the image of Star Wars tainted with ideas that space crafts like the Millennial (sic) Falcon are real.”

No response yet from the office of the DNI in response to the letter.

Could this be a stunt by Disney to promote excitement around a new show? Let us know in the comments or in social!
