Jake “Broadbent” Lloyd Reaches Breaking Point : Rehab Bound
2015 has been a wild and troublesome year for former Star Wars star Jake Lloyd but it appears the thrill ride is over. Local South Carolina news outlets reported last night Lloyd has checked himself into rehab and has his family behind him for support.
Lloyd started the year quietly until April when he and his fellow cast members hosted “Jake Lloyd’s Parking Lot Celebration” outside of the the Star Wars celebration in Anaheim. The FSW crew actually attended the parking lot celebration and aside from a few scuffles here and there it was a very enjoyable event. Out of control….but enjoyable. The cast members announced the upcoming film Justice Force Unlimited at the Parking Lot Celebration and it was well received by fans.
We have our own hunch as to why Jake’s life seemed to spiral even further downward past it’s usual disappointing resting place after the Parking Lot Celebration. It was at the celebration that Jake became acquainted with director Josh Trank. If you aren’t already aware of Mr. Trank and his antics, he’s the guy who was removed from the Star Wars Anthology project for throwing back too many cold ones and getting his grind on with a hoard of Twerk’lek dancers while on set. The pair began a volatile relationship at the celebration which only led Jake down the dark path that would forever dominate his summer’s destiny.
After Jake’s hacking incident with Ashleymadison.com he was tracked down by the CIA and was held in a federal prison for the last few weeks. His on-screen mom in The Phantom Menace, Pernilla August, was able to work out a deal to get Jake the help he needs. Lloyd will spend 6 months in rehab then another 6 in prison.
Jake released a statement last night saying “When I heard all merchandise with my image on it was being pulled from shelves I knew it had gone too far. I need to make this right and get myself together for all the Star Trek fans out there who miss seeing me at the celebrations and want to meet Darth Vader as a baby.” Jake is clearly not in a very good state of mind at this point.
No word on the status of his role in Justice Force Unlimited. Trank took over the directing role after Michael Bay left due to creative differences with Ahmed Best and the use of real animals in some of the violent action scenes.
Keep it locked to FSW for more on Jake’s recovery.
Comrade out.
