UPDATE: SDCC Hall H Update: Maximum Security Awakens
With no official confirmation from Disney or Lucasfilm that a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer will premiere at this week’s San Diego Comic Con panel, we may have just unlocked a crucial piece of the puzzle and we don’t think you are going to like it.
Our spy, J-Wad has been camping out since June 27th, holding the Faking Star Wars teams’ places in line outside of Hall H. During the last fews weeks of preparation, J-Wad has been able to obtain details of the SDCC’s security detail and most importantly the increased security measures planned for Friday, July 10th – Star Wars Day.
Extra security is to ensure that no injuries are pertained during the event. Disney and SDCC organizers are well aware that a mob of angry geeks could eat them alive if things turn ugly.
J-Wad also overheard a conversation regarding the San Diego police department lending auxillary units on the day. They have apparently been training all last week inside a Pillsbury factory – testing tazers and billy clubs against rolling masses of dough. Distraction methods will also be deployed for crowd control such as semi-automated Red Bull dispensers and Pringles canisters.
It appears SDCC is going to great lengths to ensure no overweight fans will go uncontrolled in the event of a riot.
This leaves us wondering what information WILL be revealed at the panel if not a new trailer? Perhaps the poster art? J-Wad is trying hard to get information to spoil the big day. Stay tuned for more SDCC updates.
UPDATE: In addition to the above information, after last night’s HasbroGate, in order to avoid less buttheads stomping women and children to get a piece of plastic, SDCC is bringing in even more security in anticipation of a “No Trailer Mafia” riot thread found on Reddit. When will fans learn? If you hurt each other, you only make the laughter easier. Read below for all details on security measures.
