George Takei Out of the Closet on His Star Wars The Force Awakens Role!
Star Trek alum, George Takei has come out of the closet to reveal he has a cameo appearance in The Force Awakens and a larger, yet still minor role in the rest of the sequel trilogy. See what it is after the jump!
A frequent Facebook poster and Twitter tweeter, actor George Takei is no stranger to Star Wars as he had a minor role in the animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Will he be reprising this role you ask? The answer is no! Mr. Takei will be tackling the role of a senior member of Luke’s newly organized Jedi Council!
We first spotted this on George’s official Facebook page yesterday afternoon so we sent him a private message. He kindly replied and informed us here at FSW that he will be the very first homosexual Jedi seen in the Star Wars universe. Just a note this is the second homosexual to ever appear in Star Wars since the politically-correct Disney bought out Lucasfilm. The first being a female Imperial commander from the canon novel, Lords of the Sith by Paul S. Kemp.
Takei did go on to explain to us that it will be a small cameo in TFA but the role will grow in Episodes VIII and IX. He will be a mentor figure for the new Jedi of the series, but George wouldn’t elaborate on who among the new cast will be a Jedi or not.
A big thanks to Mr. Takei for taking the time to answer our questions and we look forward to seeing him in the hall fact fat, far away!
