Tribute to a Master Faker: Sir Christopher Lee

He was a 16thcentury man who went by many names. He held the title of count 2 separate times and no one ever knew the wiser. One day he came across a strange and powerful Force that became an obsession. With the power of a single unassuming ring he became immortal.
But as with all good things, his immortality came at a price. The man who had lived so many years now had an insatiable thirst for blood. The scent of flesh drove him mad. He used his immeasurable charm to get his fill every night, but he was forced to stay on the move.

Eventually the man was forced to turn to the Dark Side. He remembered that his former master and practitioner of the magical arts warned him this could be but he paid no mind, for he was already too far gone. It was at this time in the man’s life he could use his cunning wit to gather information for the allied forces in Europe during WWII. His turning to the Dark Side allowed for his ability to kill the enemy with little to no remorse, making him the perfect man for the job.

Now nearly 700 years old and continuing his search for power. The old man with a young face realized he had the ability to control and contain lightning in the palm of his hand. This too came with a price; everything that he had worked for thus far had been destroyed in an instant. He looked in his vanity mirror on the once handsome face to discover he now had long white hair, had become very old. Not frail by any means. His old age was merely a façade but he had begun to age once again.

The old man fell asleep one late night after a festival in which a man was burned; he awoke from his bed to realize that his body laid beside him. He was not immortal. He was very human. A human who possessed great power to fake emotions so well that it could bring tears of joy, and sorrow to even the hardest of hearts.

Thank you for being there to entertain us with your sensational ability to bring these characters to life.

Rest in Peace Christopher Lee.
