Letterman Star Wars Top 10 Collaboration Ends on Sour Note

As many of our readers know, we were asked to collaborate on David Letterman’s Top 10 list in honor of the digital release of the Star Wars saga. Unfortunately, there was something in the meat case we weren’t quite aware of. More after the jump.

The team here at Faking Star Wars was more than honored when we were contacted by the Late Show staff to collaborate on one of Dave’s Top 10 lists. With the recent digital release of the Star Wars saga who else would they go to for such a daunting task? We were happy to oblige and found ourselves at the Ed Sullivan Theater not long after.

It was an overall pleasant experience except for Paul Shaffer and the entire CBS Orchestra for some reason being present for the writing process. Paul continuously suggested jokes involving Colonel Harland Sanders for reasons unknown and several of the CBS Orchestra members kept asking us to buy candy for some sort of fundraiser.

The FSW Staff, elated at what we thought we were about to watch during the airing of the Top 10 last night, found ourselves in uncontrollable rage instead. Our work was severely censored and much of it was completely removed and replaced with misdirected Star Wars references to none other than Colonel Harland Sanders. We signed a contract stating we had creative freedom over the content used as long as it was approved by the shows producer. Which it most definitely was.

FSW’s legal representatives are contacting the Late Show and will deal with this travesty immediately!

We will keep you all in the loop as this debacle develops.
