Exclusive: Netflix’s “The Legend of Zelda” Series Casts Star Wars Alum!
You heard it here first folks! Our favorite podracing, queen loving, may-be-Vader-some-day-later actor has been cast in Netflix’s adaptation of Nintendo’s beloved video game series, The Legend of Zelda! Hit the jump to see who he will be!
Jake Lloyd, child star of film such as; Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Madison, and Jingle All the Way, has been cast as Tingle in Netflix’s upcoming original The Legend of Zelda series! I was able to get a few questions with Lloyd about why he decided to come back to acting now, and why he accepted the sad… sad role of Tingle.
FSW: Wow! Jake Lloyd, it’s an honor to speak with you! Before we begin can you sign my Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader poster.
JL: Oh, of course. Anything for a fan.
FSW: Thanks, Mr. Lloyd.
JL: Just call me Jake. Please.
FSW: Oh, thank you. So let’s get down to brass tacks. We know you bowed out of acting years ago due to ridicule and other unmentionable deeds. What made you come back to acting?
JL: That’s a very good question, Sheevel. I chose to return because I wanted back in the action. There is just something about being in front of a camera that gives me a high.
FSW: Better than say… some… cocaine provided by Josh Trank?
JL: How did you know about that?
FSW: Let’s stay on topic. So you accepted the role of Link’s “sidekick” Tingle. What drew you to this role?
JL: Well I’m a huge [Legend of Zelda] fan and all the other roles were already taken, besides voicing Navi but everyone hates Navi.
FSW: Can you tell us who plays Link and Zelda?
JL: I can’t unfortunately. Bound to NDA papers.
FSW: Let’s pretend we are in an alternate universe, where said NDA papers don’t exist. Who is playing Link and Zelda?
JL: Zelda Williams is Zelda and… someone I hate is Link.
FSW: It’s Hayden Christiensen isn’t it?
JL: I can’t answer that question.
FSW: Good… good… let the hate flow through you!
At this point in the interview Jake Lloyd got up and walked out of the room. We didn’t even get a chance to pay him! But there you have it! Netflix’s The Legend of Zelda begins production soon, starring Jake Lloyd as Tingle, Zelda Williams as Princess Zelda, and probably Hayden Christiansen as Link.
