Adam Driver Reveals Oscars Were Rigged
After a big day at the Oscars for Leonardo DiCaprio, an angry Adam Driver has come forward revealing some secrets he discovered and expresses his own concern for why Star Wars: The Force Awakens lost to Mad Max: Fury Road in all but one category it was nominated for. Full details after the jump.
According to Driver, who may or may not have been intoxicated at an Oscars after party the FakingStarWars crew was given exclusive access to, director George Miller apparently paid off Oscar judges to make sure Mad Max: Fury Roadwon in every category Star Wars: The Force Awakens was nominated for. The Kylo Ren actor explained that Miller has a huge grudge against JJ Abrams for being offered the Star Wars gig by Disney. Miller, a huge George Lucas fan, was hoping to continue Uncle George’s legacy in creating a sequel trilogy that would be as innovative as both the prequel and original trilogies. Miller is of the opinion that Abrams’ The Force Awakens was “as safe as a baby in his mother’s loving arms” while his idea for it would have “broken down barriers like no one’s business.”
Driver went on to tell us that he was offended he wasn’t nominated for his performance as Kylo Ren. He feels that if he had been nominated for “Best Actor in a Leading Role” he would have gone home with his own little golden C-3PO lookalike.
“I should have been nominated for my dramatic performance as Kylo Ren! No disrespect to Leo or anything but all he did was crawl around in the snow for 2 hours and drool and moan. I mean come on! My f**king temper tantrum bits were much more dramatic that his entire film! But no matter I still have the best Oscar anyone could ever want.”
The Academy is looking into possible fraud regrading Miller’s supposed rigging of the awards. What do you think of this development? Let us know in the comments and in our new message board!
