Force Friday Shocker: Pablo Hidalgo Leaves Star Wars Story Group for New More Nerdy Venture
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – In a shocking turn of events, Pablo Hidalgo, head of the Star Wars Story Group, has announced his departure from Lucasfilm, Ltd. effective immediately. A representative for Hidalgo has informed us that the Story Group will be in good hands, but stopped short of revealing the identity of their new content janitor.
Where will Hidalgo be working now you ask? Well, for those of you unaware, Pablo is the duly appointed defender of the Tyrest Accord. Scratching your head in confusion? Yeah, we have no idea what the hell the Tyrest Accord is either. So we assigned one of our interns to do some digging. She found out the Tyrest Accord is a treaty of sorts in the Transformers universe.
That’s right Hidalgo is, and has been for some time now, in charge of Transformers comic canon as well as all things Star Wars for quite some time. Apparently, Pablo will be leaving Lucasfilm to make Transformers his top priority. Regarding this matter, Hidalgo issued this statement earlier today to a select few of his favorite and most trusted Star Wars fan news sites.
“I feel it’s important — even for robot toy fantasies — to carry a political message. That’s why the Star Wars prequels are so near and dear to me. Because at the end of the day, Optimus Prime, much like the Rebellion or Hillary for that matter, must face a racist tyrant like Megatron or Trump. Effective at the end of the day today, I will no longer be working at Lucasfilm. I have accepted a full-time, paid position at Paramount Studios to head up the Transformers and Hasbro Cinematic Universe starting October 3rd, 2016. It’s been a blessing to work for Lucasfilm these past years and I will miss all the questions about Rey’s parents and Darth Plagueis… NOT!”
We reached out to an insider at Paramount to find out if Pablo has touched anything already in the works. It turns out, both of his hands and feet have been intimate with the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight. We also learned that the time travel aspect of the film, which takes the Autobots to King Arthur’s era as well as Nazi Germany, was his idea. And finally, Optimus Prime will die in this film leaving a new female Prime to take his place going forward.
Everyone at FakingStarWars is very sad to see Pablo go, but we wish him the very best on his new venture of content janitor-ing for the promising toys-to-film universe at Paramount/Hasbro.
Hasta lluego, Pablo! La Fuerza estara contigo… siempre, eh!
