Max Rebo Band Calling It Quits

maxrebobandspecialedition

MOS ESPA, TATOOINE — Announced early this morning the Max Rebo Band is calling it quits after 27 galactic standard years. Long-time fans are probably rolling their eyes as the band has “broken up” at least 10 times since their inception in 3 ABY. FSW’s music correspondent spoke to flutist Droopy McCool who assures that the break up is real and for the best.

“The love triangle between Max, Sy [Snootles], and Joh [Yowza] has been unbearable for years. Ak-rev and I talked to Max and he said he would stop pursuing Sy but we knew better. The tension got so bad. At a rehearsal last month, Max and Joh got into it over Sy. Like they physically fought. Luckily, no one was seriously injured. But Max’s pride did get the best of him because he stormed out of the place. Ak-rev went after him to try and talk him down but maybe 20 minutes later Ak-rev returned without Max.

We didn’t hear for him for about a week so we cancelled our concerts on Hosnian Prime and Takodana. Talk about the will of the Force. Had the band been on Hosnian that day, we’d be dead! The break up is real and it’s for the best so I call it a win in my book.

I’ve been talking with Figrin D’an. He wants Ak-rev, Rappertunie and I to play on the Modal Nodes’ next album. We may do that or maybe we won’t. We’ll see.”

FSW learned the remainder of the band’s tour dates have been cancelled and ticket sales will not be refunded. Ticket buyers can either lose their credits or use their ticket to see labelmate Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes. The beings that had already purchased their Max Rebo tickets are very upset due to most of them not being fans of the Modal Nodes. They say they are sellouts after Figrin D’an appeared as a judge/coach on the past 4 seasons of GBC’s Space Voice.

It’s sad to see such a great band call it quits because of a love squabble, but feuding with bandmates is part of being a celebrity. If you want to place a bet on how long this breakup will last, leave a comment below or tweet at us on Twitter; @FakingStarWars or @LinkVoxx.
