Chewbacca very much stole The Force Awakens. He was funnier, sexier and much more badass than anyone else in the film. However, not everyone was thrilled with the loyal Wookiee’s standout performance. Leia in particular exhibited growing resentment during Acts One and Two of the film.
Her distaste for Chewie’s newfound swagger reached a boiling point during Act Three of Star Wars: Episode VII. Upon returning from a tragic battle aboard Starkiller Base, Chewbacca disembarks from the Millennium Falcon with a gravely injured Finn in tow. Rather than greet Chewie, or ask how Finn’s doing, or console her husband’s BFF (after you-know-what), what does Leia do? She completely ignores him, and waits to console Rey instead.
