Script Troubles for Han Solo Anthology?
A reputable film insider, one of Jacen’s cousins, spoke to Ben Ford on behalf of FakingStarWars.net. Ford is best known as the son of Star Wars actor Harrison Ford, and apparently he has some friends involved in the upcoming Han Solo solo film. According to Ben not only is his father banished from the set, but Disney is having serious issues with the film in general.
“I was making dinner for a couple of executives who are working on the [forthcoming] Han Solo solo movie,” Ford told Jacen’s cousin.
“And they were just telling me that there are legit problems with the script. And that the executives I was making dinner for were complaining about people who work on the Han Solo movie. And they just said they went to the studio and they said, ‘Look, the script is … Here’s 30 things that are wrong with it that we can fix.’ And [the executives] said, ‘We don’t care. We don’t really care. The amount of money we’re going to make globally, I mean 70 percent of our audience is not going to be seeing this in Galactic Basic. And it doesn’t really matter, these things that you’re bringing up about the flaws of the script.’ So I do think global concerns play a big part in how movies, and what movies, are being made, obviously.”
This is shocking news as people involved with the film have praised Larry Kasdan’s latest diatribe! Does this spinoff reek of greed? Should Greedo therefore costar? Our minds are reeling with the possibilities.
This past summer, concept artist Iain McCaig publicly stated that the Han Solo film was the best Star Wars script, and one of the best film scripts period.” But if everything Ben Ford said is true about Disney executives not caring, that’s very concerning! Could that be why they cast Donald Glover as Lando to completely change the tone of the film?
