Top 10 Easter Eggs in Rogue One

Rogue One was filled to the brim with Easter Eggs and references to other Star Wars material, but there are a handful that many have not yet reported. FSW and our interns have seen Rogue One a combined total of 172 times in IMAX 3D, 2D, and standard format. Join us as we reveal the Top 10 Easter Eggs in Rogue One that no one else has spotted!

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Godzilla:

Someone dressed as Godzilla was spotted on the Ring of Kafrene just before Cassian Andor went into the alley with Tivik. A nod to director Gareth Edwards’ previous film, Godzilla.

Doctor Aphra:

An Asian woman dressed similar to Doctor Aphra from the Darth Vader comics was seen in the Jedha market. It’s unknown if the character was meant to be Vader’s fangirl or just a nod to the character.

Ezra Bridger:

A young man who looked very similar to Ezra (as he appeared in Rebels season 3) was spotted in the Yavin 4 rebel base as Jyn and Cassian are walking outside.

IG-88’s head:

IG-88’s head was seen as a piece of furniture in Saw’s base on Jedha.

Hayden Christensen:

The back of Hayden Christensen’s head can be seen in the bacta tank as Darth Vader. In an expanded yet cut shot, we can see Hayden’s face but they removed it so they wouldn’t have to credit him.

Palpatine’s Yacht:

If you look closely, you can see Palpatine’s yacht Imperialis from the Lando comic leaving Scariff as the Rogue One crew waits to go through the shield generator.

Mickey Mouse:

A plushie of Mickey Mouse can be seen in the Erso home at the beginning of the film with Jyn’s other toys.

Stan Lee:

Stan Lee, creator of many Marvel superheroes and the master of cameos, voices one of the Stormtroopers on Jedha.

Thrawn:

A blue skinned humanoid briefly appears on the star destroyer in Tarkin’s first scene. It is likely Thrawn since he is now canon thanks to Rebels.

Yoda:

If you look closely, a rock formation shaped like Yoda’s head appears on Eadu as Cassian and Bodhi exit the ship. This could be a nod to the EU location, Mount Yoda.
