Lucasfilm Pushes for Greater Diversity Among Lunch Menu Options

After 30 years of serving a lunch menu filled with traditional American fare, the Lucasfilm cafeteria is under enormous pressure to diversify its offerings to be more reflective of the modern culinary landscape. A committee led by Lucasfilm Story Group’s Kiri Hart recently held a hunger strike on the campus grounds to demand “franks and beans” and “apple pie” be replaced with indigenous foods from third world nations along with avocado toast.

“It makes me sick to my stomach that our lunch options consist of stuff American men may have enjoyed 50 years ago. In today’s day and age, we are what we eat, and we need to be better than red blooded American males from three generations ago. It would be hypocritical of us to plant the seed of our political agenda solely in the films, books, comics and videogames we oversee, while giving the very food we put in our bodies a pass.”

As part of their demands, the Lucasfilm Story Group would like to see a wider rage of food options from glocally sourced farm raised hand-fed multi-lingual animals along with traditional desserts from war-torn area and genuine Chinese food. “Our content is simply not resonating in China, and I think much of it has to do with the American-ized Chinese food we get shoved down our throats by the cafeteria’s patriarchal administrators,” said an irate Pablo Hidalgo.

It remains to be seen whether parent company Disney is swayed by the grassroots movement for culinary diversity at Lucasfilm.
