Kristian Harloff Accuses Red Letter Media Of Cyberbullying
The Star Wars vlogosphere is reeling after the Collider Jedi Council called out Red Letter Media for cyberbullying. While the Council may have taken the first few episodes of RLM’s Nerd Crew videos in stride, the latest video by Mike Stoklasa, Jay Bauman and Rich Evans has finally triggered the host of Collider’s Star Wars news show.
Kristian Harloff threw a tantrum in reply to what he deemed cyberbullying. Speaking to FSW via exclusive Skype call, Harloff expatiated on why the Nerd Crew is a breeding ground for toxic fans, and how the misfit gang places manchildren everywhere at high risk.
“It’s very uncool. They aren’t above Star Wars fans. I can be a grown man with children and still be a proud manchild. There’s nothing wrong with that. Hell, that should be celebrated not openly mocked. Red Letter Media are sell outs. They began as genuine Star Wars fans like me, but over the years, they’ve run out of material. You can only make fun of so many prequels and bad movies with the same jokes. So they’ve decided to put fans in their crosshairs. Like, really? Think about that for a second. And there are people who support these butt clowns and contribute to their Patreon… only to be made fun of. Well, I’m not going to stand for it anymore — and neither is the Council.”
Harloff is also taking action against the cyberbullying; he’s begun collecting e-signatures to petition YouTube to remove Nerd Council videos and de-monetize all other existing Red Letter Media content involving Star Wars.
“I want them to discover how funny it is when you can’t make money out of causing other people pain. Now’s the time to do something about it… when they’re cracking seizure jokes… because there’s no telling how low they’ll go to get a laugh and make fun of me and my kind. What’s next? Racist and misogynist bits? It’s disgusting. Red Letter Media was a mistake.”
We reached out to RLM for a reaction to Harloff’s statements, but were told they were busy doling out wedgies and wet willies at a local nerd convention. So maybe Harloff has a point?
